One of the most frustrating things we as Veterans Attorneys experience is the VA’s failure to provide timely and/or accurate documentation. A senator, who is also a Disabled Veteran, has had enough. She recently lambasted the Department of Defense for failing to combine her combat records with her VA Medical Records. We see this far too often.
Senator Tammy Duckworth-Il, an Iraq War Veteran chastised the Department of Defense in a recent hearing and implored the DOD to get the records incorporated as soon as possible and stop delaying. She insisted that the delays are harming Veterans. We agree. In her C&P Exam, she was forced to disrobe and “prove” that she was an amputee; an event that she deemed humiliating. She stated that she was not a “gecko” and that her limbs would not regenerate. Lawmaker Angry at DoD
Veterans have endured enough. The VA and DoD should be able to get their acts together, especially in this computer age. I honestly believe that most of the delays and ineptitude on the part of the VA and DoD is intentional and, sadly, it affects the very people who were there when duty called, the Veteran.
