Can I sue my Mississippi employer for a fall?

Typically, you cannot. Mississippi law says that if you are employed by an employer, regardless of fault if you’re injured on the job, you’re entitled to make a worker’s compensation claim. Our law firm looks at worker’s compensation claims on a regular basis. There are certain circumstances, such as an intentional injury. If you’re boss intentionally threw a cup of water in front of you and made you fall, then you might be able to sue him directly. But most likely, it’s gonna be covered under worker’s compensation.
