What duties do business owners have to light stairwells and parking garages?

Business owners have a duty to keep their property in reasonably safe condition. If they know of a condition that is dangerous, then they have a duty to either fix that condition or warn of that condition. Oftentimes, a real simple security measure is to put lights on. I can’t imagine a property owner not being with it enough to put lights in a stairwell.
